
Buhari Arrives Belgium For EU-African Union Summit
President Muhammadu Buhari, late Tuesday night arrived Brussels, Belgium where he will join other world leaders for the 6th European Union-African Union Summit.
THEWILL earlier reported that President Buhari had departed Abuja, Nigeria, on Tuesday afternoon for Brussels for the event and will be expected back in Nigeria on Saturday.
He was received at the Brussels Airport by Nigerian Ambassador to Belgium, H.E Obinna Onowu; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of Environment, Sharon Ikeazor and Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.
Also at the airport were the National Security Adviser, Maj Gen Babagana Mongonu (Rtd), Chairman/CEO Diasporas Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa and Personal Assistant to the President on Social Media, Ms Lauretta Onochie.
The summit slated for February 17 to 18, 2022, will have the participants deliberate on themes that include Financing for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth; Climate Change and Energy Transition, Digital and Transport (Connectivity and Infrastructure); Peace, Security and Governance; and Private Sector Support and Economic Integration.
