Twitter reacts to Steph Curry’s record-breaking performance at All-Star Game
There’s putting on a show, and then there’s what Steph Curry did at the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night.
The Golden State Warriors star gave the people their money’s worth and then some with an electric performance during the main event at All-Star Weekend in Cleveland. Curry hit an absurd 16 three-pointers for 50 points in Team LeBron’s 163-160 win over Team Durant. The white-hot shooting display earned Curry this year’s Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP Award.
Some of Curry’s three-pointers were absolutely mind-melting.
Twitter lost its mind seeing the eruption of Mount Curry. Even the broadcast team of Reggie Miller, Dwyane Wade, and guest Allen Iverson could not contain their excitement. Check out some of the reactions.
The previous record for three-pointers made in the All-Star Game was held by Paul George, who hit nine threes in 2016. Curry took a battering ram to that record, nearly doubling it. He also came just two points shy of Anthony Davis’ All-Star record of 52 points set in 2017. Perhaps the best part too was that Curry raised a lot of money for charity with his scoring explosion.
Curry has a history of animosity with Cleveland and was booed resoundingly by the local fans throughout the weekend. But he channeled that negativity into maybe the greatest performance in All-Star Game history and earned some new hardware for his trophy case in the process.
